lucario pokemon speed model by Thordwolf lucario pokemon speed model by Thordwolf
After watching some articles on the subject of ripped 3d models from SSBB on the Wii, I thought Id try to have a go at modelling one of the pokemon characters on offer. Done to a low pow model, with only the 2 ref pictures as guides.
Done in one sitting in about 4 hours, then a extra hour the next day to fix up the small details (paws and pads, braids).

Holy cow! This is well over a year old. Still I don't mind the reply. You can go ahead and send me a note when it's done still. Who knows I may still texture it for you.

Yeah sorry for the late reply as I mentioned before I have been ridiculously busy learning new stuff so I had neglected my poor site (sniff), but I hope to have more up soon :).

Wow, uh well the images are from a quick google for key words like pokemon and the characters name.

I also visit various chans and keep up to date on the various creations people make, the image I used for the behind image is from a modeller/programmer that found a way to rip the model from the SSBM game on the wii, he/she then was able to also keep the textures on the character.

To date they havent told anyone how its done, (probably for the best with Nintendo go out of its way to hunt people down on homebrew). But he/she might eventually release the technique, only time will tell.
As for how to model low poly characters, thats a little more based on trial and error and about 4 years worth of training on my part. Check out a tutorial on "The Joan of Arc 3d model".

A popular tutorial lots of students in my university studied to get started on modelling a body. But the best way to arrange a low poly charcter is to draw it out first, then scan it in and follow it to the letter in the modelling program of your choice.

If I get the chance Ill do a quick tutorial on what I mean by this in the future.
